Osteomyelitis caused by Enterobacter taylorae, formerly enteric group 19.

چکیده
The first case of osteomyelitis caused by Enterobacter taylorae is presented. The infection occurred as a complication to an open fracture in an otherwise healthy host. Despite antimicrobial therapy, based on in vitro susceptibilities, it was not possible to establish a microbiologic cure.

Urinary tract infection caused by Enterobacter taylorae.
We present a case of urinary tract infection caused by Enterobacter taylorae in a 70-year-old male with renal lithiasis. The microorganism was isolated in significant numbers from a urine culture. The disappearance of clinical symptoms after antibiotic treatment points to the participation of this microorganism as the etiological agent in the infection.
متن کاملEnterobacter hormaechei, a new species of the family Enterobacteriaceae formerly known as enteric group 75.
The name Enterobacter hormaechei is proposed for a new species of the family Enterobacteriaceae, formerly called Enteric Group 75, which consists of 23 strains, 22 of which were isolated from humans. DNAs from 12 E. hormaechei strains tested were highly related to the type strain (ATCC 49162) by DNA hybridization, using the hydroxyapatite method (80 to 97% in 60 degrees C reactions; 80 to 90% i...

The case is reported of a patient who developed a vertebral osteomyelitis caused by Enterobacter cloacae. The organism was isolated in cultures of blood and vertebral puncture biopsy samples. The patient was satisfactorily treated with trimethroprim and sulphamethoxazole. Enterobacter cloacae, a Gram negative organism, has been confirmed as the cause of bacteremia in patients with burns, urinar...
متن کاملEscherichia fergusonii: an emerging pathogen in South Orissa.
Escherchia fergusonii and Enterobacter taylorae have recently been recognised as emerging pathogens. Formerly known as Enteric Group 10 and 19, these are new species in the family Enterobacteriaceae. By DNA hybridization, strains of E.fergusonii were found to be 90-97% related to the type strain (holotype) ATCC 35469 and most closely related to E. coli. E. fergusonii can be differentiated from ...
متن کاملOsteomyelitis caused by Enterobacter cancerogenus infection following a traumatic injury: case report and review of the literature.
We report a case of osteomyelitis caused by Enterobacter cancerogenus resistant to aminopenicillins in a 56-year-old male who had a motorcycle accident and suffered from multiple bone fractures with abundant environmental exposure. E. cancerogenus has rarely been associated with human infections, and its clinical significance remains unclear.
